MXGM SUPPORTS #STOPCOPCITY

Let Your Motto Be Resistance! A New Afrikan uprising is needed #StopCopCity!

The Malcolm X Grassroots Movement officially supports efforts to stop the building of a multimillion dollar police training facility in Atlanta, GA, known as Cop City. This police terror training center, on 381 acres of indigenous land and against the self-determination of the SE Atlanta Black community, will include a mock city to practice urban warfare, explosive testing areas, and a Black Hawk helicopter landing pad. It reminds us of how We arrived at the name of our 2012 Report Operation Ghetto Storm.

In 1991 the code name for the first U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq was “Operation Desert Storm”. Some ten years later, at a military training program for police, an officer wore a T-shirt with an image of a city in flames and the caption, “Operation Ghetto Storm”. The shirt, and more importantly: the attitudes, training, policies and high tech military hardware embodied in that shirt sustain the occupation and war on Black and Brown communities inside the U.S. This 2012 Annual Report documents the extrajudicial killings that result from the perpetual war on Black people or “Operation Ghetto Storm”.

Cop City is a direct threat to the New Afrikan Nation, particularly those in the Black Belt South, other captured nations inside the United States, Africa and the Global South. The extrajudicial killing of our people by police has only gotten worse. America remains the greatest purveyor of violence as Dr. Martin Luther King pointed out. Cop City, as an international police training center, would increase the export of this deadly trade of racist policing across the globe.

We must not allow our oppressors to make permanent their perpetual war to dominate and pacify our communities here and abroad, while criminalizing our human right to protest. We must organize a New Afrikan uprising rooted in self-determination, human rights and reparations

Support The #StopCopCity Week of Action Starting Today.  The militarization of the South is a direct threat to the New Afrikan Nation, particularly those in the Black Belt South, other captured nations inside the United States, Africa and the Global South.

Free All Political Prisoners And Reparations For Black And Other Oppressed Communities.  It is Our human right to resist oppression up to the right of national liberation. We call for the freedom of all political prisoners past and those being created through the criminalization of #StopCopCity protests. Reparations are due to all victims & survivors of police terror, segregation, Cointelpro, the War on Drugs and continued legacy of slavery.

Organize New Afrikan & People’sSelf-Defense Networks.  Black/New Afrikan organizations and other captured nations must organize self-reliant alliances, coalitions, or united fronts that can defend Our communities against our mutual enemies and threats and advance a common agenda based on shared interests, hopes, and aspirations of self-determination and human rights.
